    "eurovox could not be found"

hi, had my EX1000 SL for a week now and it has been great but today i have had the sky sports channels scrambled and on trying to re-scan them they can't be picked up.

Reading through other posts it seems like i need to flash my box, a null modem cable came with the box and i have brought a USB adaptor from ebay. I downloaded Voxer but having some trouble getting it to find my eurovox, i get the message that eurovox can not be found.

I have looked through the help topics and set Voxer to look for COM 3 only which in device manager > Ports > USB-SERIAL CH340(COM3) which I'm guessing is where Voxer should be looking.

The USB lead came with a drivers disk which i installed and also but still the same problem and drivers i found off here i thought i would try but still no good.

Is there something I'm not doing right ?

    Thanks.

if your box has been working in the last 12 months ok your box does not need flashing remove any splitters try a deep scan make sure your using the right symbol rate i dont know it for your area but try 6952 or6887 first

If your Eurovox does not need flashing then try a factory default reset and then a powerscan to scan for the channels again.

I did a factory default reset and did another scan and I am picking up channels but I'm missing sky1,2,3 and the sky sports 1,2,3.

But when i first did a scan on getting the box i didn't have these but i did another scan and some how got them all but when after getting the message up saying they was scrambled this afternoon i can't help thinking this is why i can't pick them back up or am doing something wrong ?

          BUMP

is anyone else having problems with the sky sports channels?

I'm trying to scan through with different frequency's that other people have suggested but still no luck in finding them or sky 1.

          Any suggestions ?

Hi, connecting your eurovox to your computer by serial rs232 with usb adapter will not show up on your computer as an external device in "my computer". It should however still connect. You should not need to install usb adapter via cd, it should plug & play if your running windows xp etc... however when you run program to download firmware to eurovox this may take a few turns, turning off your box and on again. Have your box connected to your computer in standby to begin. keep trying.

well today i took the splitter off and on doing a scan picked up sky 1 and sky sports 2 but they was both unwatchable, picture too blocky and sound was all but distortion.

On putting the splitter back on to come back onto the Internet both channels now come up as scrambled.

Really confused over this as i did have all the channels but can't get them now.

your problem looks very much like its a signal issue
                  try remaking all your connections
also when on a channel thats breaking up press the remotes info button twice and see what signal strength and quality you are getting

79% I would say is Ok

if its only happening on an odd channel you could try slight adjustments to the frequency that channel is on, ie if its on frequency 300.00 you could try adjusting from 299.00 to 301.00 in increments of 0.250 checking after each move for any improvements
