Signal strength varies at different times of the day

I have noticed recently that at different times during the day my signal strength varies and is usually bad around 4-5pm. Also noticed if my box starts playing up and i switch off for a minute and back on its all ok again for a while.

I may be way off the mark but I'm sure with the tv mast transmissions the signal is boosted around similar times to what you have stated as tv viewing demand goes up. Wouldn't know if it's the case with cable but the only kind of guess I could make.
