im having trouble getting my laptop to recognise my eurovox ex5000pvr, its been ok in the past. it seems to recognise the ex5000 in my other room ok so i thought it might be a problem with the serial connecter at the back or a possible firmware problem. i want to uninstal the firmware from the box and reinstal it again to see if it helps but obviously i cant get a connection between the box and my laptop. is there a way to remove the firmware manually from the box. ive tried factory default settings but the firmware is still on it.

thanx chic ive tried it on standby and left on a channel but to no avail. my other box is communicating no problems.
its just to download a new cdf file into it to save me manually doing it after the new channel order in glasgow yesterday. the firmware itself is fineComment

yes m8 the serial connecter is most likely the problem i use one and it can find one box but not another i would not bother with the cdf put the frequancy's in manually and scan them only thay are 355'000. 162'000. and 155'000.if i helped hit the thanks btnComment
