Eurovox 5000 Will No longer record

My Eurovox will no longer record it used to have about 20 recordings - was working all ok

tried recording the other day and would not do nothing
deleted evrything from the unit but still no joy

can anyone assist

remove your hard disc and reinsert it making sure its all the way in. now try recording again for about 5 minutes and be aware it may take a few minutes to actually start the recording. leave this first recording on the disc as it works better.

have tried recording after reseatting the hard drive but no joy still will not record

try a factory reset then reinstal the firmware again with newly downloaded firmware from the downloads section on here.

pulled it out - reseatted it and did a restore deleting everthing twice then working
