Evening All,

Have a question for you guys having done a bit of reading of late.
Now I am well aware of the impending changes that N3 will bring, but a friend of mine is extremely keen to purchase a box (preferably with PVR option). I've been through it half a dozen times and explained she might be wasting her time but still adamant wants to go ahead.
Person likes the idea of being able to record, but if this is short lived I was going to just suggest getting hold of a used 500C box. I would have thought there would be a influx of these from the Midlands/Ireland.
What's your thoughts on models please? What is the difference between the EX5100 PVR and EX5000?

Should I just dissuade them?

I will be honest with you and tell you that your friend is wasting his money for something that could be over in the next 2 months.

tell them not to bother but in answer to your question is that there is no difference at all they just changed the model from 5000 to 5100 to combat the amount of cloned 5000 boxes that were comming out.
