Hi m8 and welcome to DK.
If you have just purchased a new cable box, i am sorry to tell you that you will be doomed soon!
N3 is a new cable tv encryption system being rolled out in the UK by VM and within a few months the whole of the UK will be ~~~~ed.
If you can return your box for a refund and look into other methods of watching TV as free cable tv as we know it is at an end!!!

This is not necessarily true if you get an open source box ie dream box or dbox you will be ok and you can choose from either sky and cable networks! This method is called card sharing and works on N3 cable networks FACT!!! Although will will pay a subscription charge for this service

Yes that is true but as the OP has/is purchasing an EX1100usb box, I dont think there is any hope of doing that with this box.

What it means is that the days of watching free cable progams will probably come to an end this year as posted above by bad apple ....

This has been brought about by the freeloaders who dont even pay any subscription at all to a cable company...they have gone around boasting about this to all their mates and so the situation has now gone out of control,the cable companies have been forced into this by the freeloaders,it couldn't just be left to go on unchecked,they would go out of business...

The cable companies are somewhat to blame for this happening in that they didn't disconnect all the feeds to properties that didn't subscribe,if they had done this the situation would never have risen. so they (the freeloaders) have killed the goose that laid the golden egg ...In a way Im glad this is happening,far too may freeloaders in todays society,at least it will get rid of them ....for the rest of us who do subscribe,well, it will be a sad day when it happens,but at least we will have some sort of a clear conscience,we had a good run ....

i couldnt agree more i always advise people to get at least the minimum package at least! then if u have any cable issses atleast u still got a leg to stand on instead of paying a cowboy cable guy or a dodgy virgin guy to sort ur issues!
