    Windows 7 not seeing eurovox max with voxer??

    Hi

    I am having trouble connecting my eurovox max box via my pc which is running on windows 7 64 bit. I have a usb to serial adaptor which i eventually founds drivers for. When i try receive firmware from box through the pc i get an error message saying ' No usable communications hardware was found i tis machine' Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.?

    Sounds like an OS compatibility issue mate.

    I would use a machine with XP and that should solve the issue.

    Do a dual boot if necessary or else u can secondary machine if u have one.

      Your proberly right mate because it was working fine when a was running that. Think ill partition a drive with XP.

        I have no problem on max v using Voxer with Windows 7 64bit but I don't use an adaptor only null modem cable

          I take it u have a serial port on your pc? I have a usb to serial adaptor becasue i done have one.

            yes I have the serial port and I have no trouble flashing starviews and eurovoxes

            can you see your adaptor in device manager and if so is it set up to the correct port

              Try running the prog in xp mode in windows 7

                i am using the same lead as yourself and i am using windows 7 in 32 bit and i am using voxer without a problem

                  I went into device manager n found out the adaptor is running on port 4 & 5. How do i change ports on voxer??

                    you don't change Voxer you have to change the port setting of your adaptor to port 1,2 or 3
                    in device manager right click on your adaptor and in the box that opens click on properties then port settings then advanced tab and here you can change the port number. don't forget to change it back when you have finished

                      Ive tried to change the port number. It is still saying No usable communications hardware was found in this machine'

                      Any ideas?there is a few options in port settings. Is it the prolific usb to serial comm port that i have to change?
