    First Post

    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and I just wanted to know if anyone know's what the picture quality is like on the Eurovox 7000 HD? The image is 1080i resolution on the box but will it make a difference on the image compared to a stan def box? I'm running the picture thro' a Pioneer plasma screen. Any advice would be helpful.

You'd get an upscaled picture through your tv which is better than stretching it but if you don't have the box yet then don't buy it. Go to the search field and type in nag3 which will explain why.... Happy Reading and as they say, welcome to dk.

I had A ex7000HD for a couple of months as well as my eurovox max. I have a 50" 1080p Panasonic. I tested picture quality by viewing both outputs simultaneously on a picture in picture split screen. On standard definition broadcasts I could tell no differance in pic quality. Although ex7000 has a built in upscaler most modern lcd/plasma tvs have this already built in. On HD channels the quality can be really good BBC HD as it does transmit in 1080i. The other six or so HD channels vary as although they are badged as HD an awful lot are sd transmissions. I sold mine and kept my eurovox max v however as soon as the new Nagra3 encryption started to role out, if you are thinking of purchasing one it is highly likely you will only get a few weeks out of it, you would be better going down the sat route.
