    Virgin Media Eurovox Detector

Just to give you the heads up, Virgin Media are trialing something which can detect the use of a EuroVox from outside of your house, a bit like what the TV Licensing Authority use.

The details I have are still sketchy and I'm still waiting for more information and once I know more a solution will probably be made public unless lincsat beats me to it.

I won't be around for a few weeks for obvious reasons ^

Please don't bombard me with a bunch of questions as I won't answer them until I know more.

I beg to Differ mate... the boxes are illegal to use... Which was the main reason why the main Distributor was raided... No names mentioned.

Why would you want to buy a Eurovox with a Cable tuner???

because its bait you want to Watch all PPV channels for free...

Why not just get a freeview box with a DVB T and watch the free view channels

fact of the matter is that it states on the V media terms and conditions that you not allowed to plug in any box on there Line apart from the one that has been Provided to you.

i also beg to differ, the use of said boxes is only illegal when they are used to receive premium broadcasts for which you do not pay.

It is possible to legally own a gun but is illegal to shoot someone with it

is that why Rayonics got shut down in a blink of a eye .. is it no suprise that Ebay have banned all sellers who were selling these boxes...

secondly dont you think its very very obvious on why you would buy a box with a DVB-C tuner in it which can plug into a cable line ...

infact I would like to see you keep your box in your living room unplugged while the Vm engineer walks in.

then maybe u could explain in court when they ask... why do you have a Box which has a DVB C tuner in it if your not gonna use it ???

                        sounds crazy doesnt it

In UK as far as I am aware of you not allowed to hold a gun ... and secondly if you are then you would be required to have a license... which then means your LEGIT

                        I rest my case!!!

So the bottom line is... No one would buy a box which has a cable tuner in it... if they wasnt gonna use it to obtain PPV channels without paying for them.

Just before you go ahead and say... am gonna plug my TV arieal IN... wrong because you would then need a DVB T tuner.

Finally... take a look at the VM terms and conditions.. here is it from the VM site:

You may not use any reception equipment to receive the television services other than the equipment we have provided to you for the express purpose of receiving the television services (such as a set-top box).

So you go ahead Unplug your box... Put it on your couch and then fone VM and ask him to come pay u a visit..

After that if he still doesnt say anything then I will suprised.... And if you go to court then let me know how it went.

why would it be illegal to sell a box which has no software o it. its the same thing as the guys who sell cannabis plant seeds. thay are not illegal to sell but illegal to cultivate. as for the vm guy calling on you, why would you let him into your home- tell him to p*ss off youre going out.

Laws are slowly bending towards helping virgin,, turning into ireland situ soon where there is no FTA cable,, and if reading your terms and conditions with virgin you will see your legally only allowed to use Virgin equipment on there virgin line,,
so FTA or non FTA,,, none of them are legal, dont lets optimism ruin your fun
                            boom!
