    Eurovox PVR firmware update problem

I am trying to update my new EV5000 PVR with the latest UFL firmware 1.1 / 1.1a However I have some problems.

Using a laptop with a USB to 9pin serial adaptor connection.
    Assigned COM1 to USB adaptor.
When I start the UFL it by default starts to look for COM1.

On selecting DOWNLOAD - I get a START button and on selecting this I get the following message:

    "The receiver was not detected"
"If you want to download the firmware in the boot mode, click OK button below and AC power on your receiver"
    COM Port settings:
COM1 COM2 COM3 COM4 (You can select one of these)

    I again selected COM1 port.

then UFL displays a message 'Waiting response from Receiver...'
    and nothing happened for Hours.

I have a Serial cable (F-type)) supplied with the box, so I have assumed it is a NULL modem cable. I hav einstalled all driver for USB-serial converter.

    Help much appreciated.

    Thanks

Similar problem with eurovox max blue

I have the same problem, however I am using a 9 pin to 9 pin null modem lead, and still no response from the receiver .
      Anyone any ideas.

YOU HAVE GOT YOUR BOX PLUGGED IN HAVENT YOU

i would only use a null modem cable (nine pin to nine pin) your box needs to be plugged in

make sure your using com port 1

then you turn the box on when you download the firmware
