eurovox ex 1000 sl

hi hope you can help

my 1000sl has been working perfectly for the past 3 months then i decided that i wanted to paint my roon so i disconnected it and moved it out the way.
when i connecteed it all back up it came on for a few mins then just went off.
there is no power light on the front so i thought it may be the fuse so i changed that and still nothing.
i have a the lead wich i have used on a dreambox the rs lead thingy and i have the correct port on my computer to plug it straight into.
i have used dnupman to read the box but it wont find it on any com port.
can anyone advise me where i may be going wrong please try and explain in ordinary peoples terms as im very tired and in thick mode.

hi mate try going into your contol panel then device manager and right click on the device that you have connected, go to properties and go to port settings click on advanced settings then go to com port number and change it to any one between 1-4 thats not in use, once you've done that restart your computer with your device still connected and hopefully it should work
