cant upload firmware to eurovox 5100

my old eurovox 5100 broke so i exchanged it for a new one. i recieved it yesterday and i connected the null cable (R232) to the eurvox and my pc. i've downloaded the latest firmware. i turned the power on the eurvox in standby and opened the program to upload the firmware. it keeps sayin there is nothing in com1 etc. i checked my device manager and the com1 port is enabled. i have done this before and it work so i do know how to flash it. i tried turning on and off the eurvox many times but no luck. do you think its because of the box? the null modem cable came with the box

you say to upload the firmware, are you selecting the upload button as you need to select the top Download button

it is possible the cable is not null modem type try the one you have used before to make sure

what i meant was, when you open the program, i click download but it cannot find the box. i tried changing the ports number but no luck. im 100% sure that the cable i recieved with the box is the correct cable

the only thing that connects the box to PC is the cable, if you have successfully flashed boxes before it suggests there is a problem with the cable or you may have a duff box, I would first try another cable

had the same problem its the box thats goosed send it back for a replacement its a common fault.
