Just got a new EX5000

Where do I start?

Do I just plug it into the pc and download the firmware (is that flashing or is flashing something different?) or do I need to do a scan on the FTA channels first?

Yes, downloading the firmware to your box is flashing and wherever you get the firmware loader from there should be a word document with full instructions as well which will tell you exactly what to do. You dont need to scan for the freeview channels first.

I've not download the firmware yet but just to test it I plugged it in and selected 6.877 as I'm in ex-C&W, did a fast scan but it didnt come up with any channels. I then did a power scan and still no channels...

Any ideas?

dont no mate not familiar with box but i would flash it then try again you could try 6.952 instead

You need to use symbol rate 6952 and you need to flash with firmware unless you want FTA only of course.

Thanks guys, did the scan on 6952 and it worked. Bizarrely, its already flashed and I've got all the channels already...
