Hi, my eurovox max v box has just died on me. A message came up on my t.v. Telling me it had a fault and to return it to my supplier. I unplugged it, waited a while, then plugged it back in and nothing, not even a light on the display. Iv'e done this a few times and on the odd occasion i get an orange light on the display. Is it worth my while trying to fix it ( i assume it will need Jtagging of which i have zero knowledge ) or am i just as well paying 85 quid for a new one of ebay?

It needs to be Jtagged as you surmised. You can get a Jtag Kit from Mash at TMC here Tailor-Made Circuits costs ?10 plus P&P. Comes with all you need and instructions. No need to buy a new box.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

So there is power going to the EV as you used the VCC clip. And you have successfully Jtagged. The only other culprit could be the C14 capacitor on the PSU board.
I would erase and write to the EV again, sometimes it takes more than one attempt. After that look at replacing the C14 cap.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

Best of luck. But the message you got is usually fixed by Jtag but if thats not successful it could be the cap. I cannot see the PSU been at fault also, well hopefully.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment
