    eurovox reciever problem

    Hey guys

i was looking about the fourm and i can not find anything on the problem i seem to be having

I have my eurobox EX1000 SL sitting beside me here and i have a belkin box which enables me to connect my usb and vga to the rs 232

i installed the driver for my computer for it to enable me to see the eurovox

I then downloaded the ufl ex1000 sl v2.0 from another thread in the fourm which everyone seemed to be saying worked

I run the program and i hit the download button then another window pops up and i click start

A third window then pops up stating that the reciever was not detected if you want to download firmware in boot mode click ok button below and ac power on your reciever. i then have four options com port 1,2,3 and 4

i have tried all ports and for 1,2 and 4 i get com port is not available.

that leave me with com port 3 which seems to work and it opens up yet another window. but in this window it says waiting for response of your reciever. and just sits there and does nothing.

could somebody please give me a hand as i am really stuck. i shuld be back in an hour or so just gotta run a few errands thanks

have you connected your usb adaptor to a null modem cable

go into device manager and see what port your usb adaptor is connected to, it needs to be connected to a port in the range 1 to preferably port 1

it sees it either as com port 3 or com port 6 depending if i use the vga or usb

I don't know what this vga is but you should be connected as
usb into computer and other end of usb adaptor should connect to one end of the null modem cable, the other end of the null modem cable connects to your eurovox.

you then need to go into device manager and click on the + sign next to Ports (COM&LPT)
one of the listed ports should indicate which port your usb adaptor is connected to, this port needs to be either port 1,2,3 or 4 (as the UFL firmware only looks at these ports)
