eurovox spliiter and recording?

Hi Everyone,
This may sound a stupid question but if I purchase a eurovox box (pvr with hdd) and use a splitter to my normal virgin box. Can i watch a channel on the original box but also record a dif' program on the eurovox?

I am unsure if it uses the same signal on each unit or not. The same way as the old video recorder did?

If you use the splitter you will be able to watch one program on the vm box and record another on the eurovox. you have a tuner in the vm box for showing channels and a separate tuner in the eurovox, so you don't have to watch the same program on both boxes.
