Eurovox Max V Cable box 2008

Hi everyone,just got hold of a couple of these boxes to bring back to life. The first one i Jtagged and then loaded up KURO UFL no problem but when i do a powerscan it only picks up 18 of the Normal 38 Transponders in my area.
I live in South Shields and i am on Virg/telepest. The second problem with the other box is the Dreaded two GREEN DOTS on the LCD . I have had this problem before and never fixed the box and sold it on as FAULTY. This box is different as i actually Jtagged it with the 2008 TSOP with Jkeys but still green dots after powering up again. This motherboard has the reset switch so i have tried to upload KURO UFL with com port 1 with no joy. I have set the program away with my finger on the reset and plugged box in and let go but still no joy . I took a working PSU out of another box but this made no difference ! Any ideas on these two problems i am having Guys and gals ???

Have you tried a booster on the first box? You really like messing with these faulty boxes

The second box would usually be a faulty C14 but as you said you replaced the PSU it cannot be that. Have you re flowed the solder joints on the header of the MOBO?

Yeah satsmo love to punish myself with these boxes ! i will try a booster on the box that only picks up half the transponders and see if that helps ! The Green dots problem took the JTAG no problem with Skymax and Jkeys but never changed the power up situation as the green dots are still showing . Give both boxes to my friend to play about with again. In the meantime i have got a third box that was not powering up at all. My friend changed a couple of things on the power board and then the box powered up only to the red standby light . I jtagged that no problem but it remained the same so switched it off all together. Came back two hours later and then the box did the green dashes in a square then came onto the clock ! ??????? I then uploaded the Kuro software UFL with no problem . Did a powerscan and it went through the 770 transponders and found the usual 38 for my area . Thing is though it did not find any tv or radio channels . This baffles me no end as the remote operates the box now and i can get into the menu's. Did a factory default to start again but no channels or radio ?????? Like you say i like punishing myself . Sorry m8, problem boxes are just that........... problems Could be a dry joint somewhere, a faulty TSOP, the tuner, the list is endless. I presume you scanned on all providers?

Are you getting any signal level/quality other than the usual 8%?

Cant be the tsop as i have used it to revive others . havent scanned on all providers as i am on 6952 telepest . Could be power low to the tuner or the tuner itself and not quite sure what you mean about the 8% is that on a progress bar after the scan has finished ?

When I say the TSOP I dont mean the bin file I meant the actual EEPROM itself. Regards the signal level this will be shown at both the TP, (frequency) list and during scan.

While scanning the LEVEL and QUALITY average around 83% GREEN and fluctuates up and down. Once the 38 transponders have been found the level and quality turn RED bars and average on 8% ??? After the scan has finished on the report page of the 38 transponders they all have a GREEN quality of 83% .

Can you even get FTA channel?

If you cannot get FTA then it looks like a tuner issue.
