will virgin hd box work with normall virgin signal

Hi, I have a new samsung LED tv with no scart input, only hdmi and usb inputs. bought a cable composite to hdmi but will not pick up signal from the normal virgin box. If I buy a Virgin hd box and plug in the signal cable and plug in the signal from the hd box via hdmi cable will this work? Dont want to buy one and find it doesn't work.

I have checked all the hdmi ports and all work with PS3 output.

the cable feed will go into the hd box then connect via hdmi to your tv.
