honestly mate it's easier than geting through to your cable providers helpline

you cannot possibly break it, if you do it wrong it just wont work untill you do it right!

just get a null modem cable, the latest firmware, back up your channel data first (upload it to your pc using the firmware flashing utility) then download the firmware to your box and then the channel data you backed up!

then sit back enjoy a cold beer with a big smile knowing you did.....and can do it again next time it happens!
