not sure if firmware is loaded correctly....

ive just flashed my Eurovox Max V and it all went fine and the loader said it was successful/completed etc. loaded my cdf again then hooked it up to cable and im recieving channels like before....wheres the prob i hear u ask!? Well out of interest i went into system info and it still says im running the old 18/04/08 firmware version 1. I know i flashed it correctly as i followed the instructions from this site.

Will it always say the old firmware in the system info, not matter what new firmware i put on it? Any ideas or do i just have to wait and see if it goes down again??

it looks like the new firmware was created by modifying an old firmware, makes no difference tbh if it works it works,

I didn't check the version when I did mine so I don't know what it said but just out of interest did you do a factory reset after the update? That might have something to do with it.

cheers for checking, fingers crossed then ay! ha

heres a post from another forum....

"Max V fix definitely works, I have installed and tested by manualy changing the codes then saving and then I get the message wait Code updating, then all comes back OK automatically as before the change 4 days ago"

something to give us some confidence!

                take it easy

its not the keys changing that is the problem, the auto update firmware sorts that, it's how they send the command and change the keys, if they do it in a new way that is not written into the auto update firmware the update will fail....until the new method is written into the firmware. there are currently several keyroll methods programmed into the firmware so effectively none of the old methods will make your box "go down", only new methods. this is the first time a new method has been implemented for ages and i'm glad as things were getting boring

Just to confirm that even though system info displays that firmware is old version 1,even after being flashed with new 30/11/08 firmware, it does 100% work! My box just displayed "please wait, code being updated...." but after a minute or so the picture came back. Took longer than normal but hey im not complaining!
