Real or Clone: ex5000 pvr?

Hi All,

Was looking to update f/w for my ex5000 pvr but remember reading somewhere that some boxes are clones.

Does this box need the visual checks to be done, or would it be safe to apply the new version straight away?

to be honest mate do the visual checks!!...if it's a clone there is a good chance udating the firmware could turn it into a brick!!..but then again it's up to you!!!

A long time supplier of sat/cable/cards etc. Web site maxking.co.uk I have used them for several purchases in the past.

I thought there was only clones of the blue box? I think your safe mate just flash it!

My box is down now anyway, so i haven't got ought to lose.

I'll get the cables and then get it flashed!

Yes i did flash the box and all went well.
Sorry i couldn't get back to you sooner, but my b/band connection was down for a couple of days!
