can anyone confirm maxking sells genuine boxes and not clones? I'm thinking of buying another box to supplement my max v, and the eurovox 5000 pvr look very interesting - can anyone who has one comment on how good the pvr functions work? (for e.g. can you choose to record series, like on tivo? can you record any channel ie not just freeview channels?)Last edited by redbaron101; 2 December, 2008, 11:14.Comment

Maxking sell genuine boxes. I have just purchased one from them. You can't record a series like on some pvrs. There is often a delay of around 30 seconds upwards before recording starts but this is resolved with a re-boot. It's ok for say a bedroom where it is not your sole means of recording. Otherwise it is not a bad buy for the price.Comment

Iv'e had my ex5000 pvr for a few weeks now and I'm a little disapointed with the pvr functions, I don't have alot of experience but was expecting it to be something like sky+ and unfortunately it isn't. Your very limited when recording and trying to watch other channels i think they need to be on the same transponder as the one your recording. And for the live pausing, i tried this just yesterday after a pestering salesman from Npower called and tried to sell me gas. I found that by the time it starts to record something you lose around 2 mins of programme your watching. As i said I'm by no means an expert as iv'e only just returned to a cable area, but this is the first impressions of a newbie.Comment
