EX-5000 PVR Recording

First of all chaps... can i say nice one for all the help and quick response when the boxes went off.. we would be f**ked without you..

Moving On... I have the ex5000-pvr and was wondering how i can sort some issues i am having with the pvr side.. When i am in my FAV menu and going through the various channels and wish to record something I press the EPG menu button and i am given the options in top right corner (R - Record - Y - TIMER i have tried the red button and nothing seems to happen... Now it will record from the timer and it will record direct from the REC button whilst watching but when i wanna quick record something before shooting out it seems i have got to mess about with the timer or start a record which will then continue till i return... Is this normal because i was under the impression that it worked a little like sky+ ??

I have the 120gb seagate momentus 5400rpm and the box is deffo not a clone

After you press the red button to record from the epg go into the main menu and check to see if it is a planned recording I had the same sort of problem and found that it was there as when I tried to record later it stopped me saying "recording already existed"

I have pressed record before shooting out before and was sure that it only recorded teh program ! No actually I think you need to go to the epg again and do it from there?
