There is a compatability problem with the Prolific PL2303 USB to serial cable adapter when you use it with Vista. Prolific offer no support for Vista users.
The infuriating thing is that ista sometimes detects the hardware and installs the driver sometimes it doesn't! Even if it is picked up and the driver installed I could still not flash the box. You just get the "Waiting for response from server " message. The only way I could get round this was to borrow an XP laptop and install the ufl on that, change the port setting from the installation default and BINGO all my channels have just come back!There is a God and thanks to all you guys out there doing the hard work-I hope this solves the problem for people that hae been in this situation.
