    vm upgrades/internet/tv

    2 year ago upgraded my broadband from 10 to 50mg,got a new modem to take 50 mg ,13 months after downgraded back to 10 mg ,then in feb this year asked them to put it back to 50 mg,they said i need a new modem ,due to a diff signal to the modem,super hub,and i had to pay a one of payment of 30 pounds.. now the tv got the m package, i asked to upgrade , vm said i need 2 new boxes, a new v+ box and a hd box for the other room,cus my other v+ and other box cant take the new upgrades to hd etc,but theres another one of payment of 40 pounds , i think it shocking that you have to pay the one of payments.

    Technically the old boxes all still work but their policy is that all new customers and upgrades have to use the newer boxes. I guess their failure rates on the old boxes are getting to the point where support costs make it more effective to force users onto the newer hardware.

          i phoned them for a better deal around a month ago.

          got my bills reduced from ?45 a month to ?30ish.

          i was told if i paid a one off fee of ?30 i would be upgraded from 20meg to 30meg and my bills would be the same.

          the guy more or less told me just to wait a few months as they where planning to upgrade everyone and i would get it for free eventually.....

          ~~~~ers also wouldn't upgrade my box,, they wanted me to take a years sub beore they would upgrade......
          i still have the same old cable box ive had for years, no hd or nuthin, but im not getting roped into a years contract for it.....
                vm are not letting you upgrade your chan s with the v plus boxes, you need new boxes v+ hd to get your chan s ,plus they want 40 pound one of payment to get the box.
                  Give them the good news tell them Sly are offering you a better deal half price for six months which will save you cash rather than cost you cash they'll soon back down.
                      i feel like ive been ripped off,from vm call centre, last week when i called to upgrade my tv package, i got a asian guy , he said to get the upgrade you need 2 new boxes due to vm upgrades, (as i said in my first post)even tho i had a v+ box and another box in the other room. phoned vm to complain,kept hanging up until i spoke to someone scottish , took 9 attempts, he siad you could of upgraded without getting 2 new boxes , asian guy did not know what he was talking about. but im still down 40 pound, for the vm guy comming out for the new hd boxes..im taking the matter higher up with vm.
