What set top box should i buy??

I?m new to the forum and looking for some help. I live in the north East of the UK and have had sky HD over the past years. I have now cancelled it and am a new Virgin phone/broadband customer. I also have a Humax HD freesat box but unfortunately I no longer am able to watch the football and motor bike racing. I am considering purchasing a cable box to connect to my Virgin line, this seems harder than I first thought, there seems to be loads of makes and model to choose from
Please can anybody advise me of the best way forward for receiving the football etc in HD and recommend the best kit on the market to do so. I have looked at the starveiw HD, some forums say its good other?s say not so good???
I have also been told Virgin is spending a lot of money developing a way of stopping people using their lines?? Can anybody shed any light on this?

    Your help is much appreciated

your best taking sat cs route seeing as you have a dish, both kryptview and starview have had major issues and downtime, which you would expect with large scale operation. but at least it keeps the powers that be looking at smaller servers.

if you are onlly sly your dish setup is fine as it is, no need to change.
