    Freeview on Virgin Media

    Can I watch the free view channels if I have a Virgin media connetion. I subscribe to broadband. If i can get the free channels what equipment do i need?

    you can only watch virgim media tv with one of their boxes, unless you want to go down the cardshare route with the starview 6-7 and kryptview A750-780 but these boxes are unreliable and illegal,( google for info on c/s ) why dont you just get a normal terrestrial ( dvb-t ) freeview box ?20 ish if its just freeview you want.

      if you have an itgate or any other linux box

      you can get free to air cable channels by connecting to cable feed

      but remember it will only be free to air channels

        the guy is asking about FTA channels so any linux box should work

        I know my itgate 210 and 200 still give FTA cable channels anyway

          You still only get about 10 fta chnls with 3rd party cable boxes. A fair load of free typical ones are encrypted, although I'd say if you had an original box with the N3 card(even without a package) then the card would clear those fta chnls also... I think that's their hustle this time round.

          3rd party cable boxes are useless for fta.. best just using regular freeview
