    TiVo

Hi. i have a VM TiVo box arriving soon and i was wondering what, if any hacks i can do? i understand that it cant stream media from a home server. this is my main goal. it would be cool if i could apply my own theme/s too.

however im interested in any hacks/tweaks i can carry out

    Thanks

Think the box is to new for this. The box is made by cisco.. its the same as their "HD Box" in quality..

I've played with the box and truth be told i'm not impressed. Its very laggy and glitchy.. the remote doesnt always respond and the back button doesn't do what it always used to do..

There is however, a new update out soon which should fix all this.

I've got one and i'm not that impressed either.
Cant set it to change channel at start of a program.
Would also recommend the 1 terr box because it gets full quickly with all the programs it records itself

All the updates are over the air. there is no need for the customer to know its been updated.. i would write down the the current sw version and check it whenever you feel the need.. Im not up on when this update is due but i suspect..

just go into the suggested recordings and delete them then.. pretty simple really.. also it doesn't get full as the suggested recordings are deleted automatically if space is tight and you can't be bothered..

my box changes at the start of a recorded program, or are you on about reminders..? The main idea of Tivo is the ability to record multiple shows so a reminder isn't needed.. you record and watch later

sorry mate but your problems seem to be operator error rather than hardware error..
