Extra virgin media box

I'm moving into a new house shortly & looking to get VM put in. If i put a splitter in the coax cable for another room & obtain a second box from ebay for example would the box work if i switch the card back & forth from the main box & the second one ?
Also the same kind of question about the broadband wireless super hub if i wanted one upstairs & one downstairs to get better wireless coverage would it work ?

Its possible but the hubs are notoriously difficult to work with so your probably better off purchasing a wireless repeater, or perhaps using a cheap router that has dd-wrt on it.
