Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to get this to work? I dont mind if its Windows based or Linux based. I have been googling and there are bits an pieces mentioned but I cannot find how to actually do it.

tut will be dependant on what u want......

          1. basic dvb-c card that works with 3rd party apps such as my theatre, ritzdvb and use softcam decryption eg vplug

2 bit more sophiticated card that works with media portal, sage tv etc

          3. card that works with mce - need hardcam decryption.

          4. top of the range dvb-, htpc vista mce media centre with hardcam decryption, hd, full 2-week epg..?

for top of the range vista or W7 media centre build go for

floppydtv dvb-c - blue zetacam flashed with appropriate firmware allowing u to get a boxkey - fun or mosc smartcard with suitable img and match boxkey....

heres a couple of screenshots of the my vista mce + tvpack 2008

                    what best hardware for this

currently have a P4 2 GNz Compaq SFF desktop with 500 GB SATA HDD and 1 GB RAM - is this powerful

also whats a decent DVB-C PCI card - something not too expensive.. maximum I could spend is say 50 quid - even if I have to buy second hand

Somehow I missed this thread earlier and posted one similar.. one thing I would like to know though is will a setup like MetMan's still work once Virgin switch to Nagra 3 if using a proper VM viewing card ?

I really hope so at MetMan's setup looks great and is exactly what I'm looking to achieve at the moment
