Im currently running a starview the box super which is great with the help from all on this site. I do have the older version aswell but would like to get another more upto date unit. Can anyone give advice...? to stay with starview or change to another make, and where to get the right unit from not a clone...

If you want a more up to date unit, Your not going to get any more up to date than the new eurovox ex7000hd. I hear a lot of people are ordering from dvb junkie, they are a decent price and I've not heard anyone say they have had a clone from there.

I would hold on to your sv1 ......You never know when the n3 bug will hit us. I have 4 as well as two eurovox's . Can't knock the SV1's they still beat the euro's on the roll.......up to youComment

I agree, He should hold on to the sv1 he already has....Now is not the time to upgrade.......I want to see a box up and running on N3 before I splash any cash. I would not buy anything on the market now.....Comment

Really not being funny guy's but why should ppl not buy anything on the market now?? Nobody has a clue when nagra 3 is going to hit us, Ok so they are implementing it in, In America now but for all any of us know it might not hit us for another 2 yrs! So even if you do get an upgrade you'll still get your money's worth out of it. So far we have nothing concrete, Just rumours.Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

Lanxman N3 has been used in Europe for over a year. It will be in Ireland very soon as it has been streaming for a while. Your right though its all rumours and no one really has a clue how close or how far it is away.
As far as cable boxes go you pays your money you takes your choice. If you get 6 months out of a cable box its paid for itself and you will imo get that despite the rumours.
The facts are that N3 has never been opened successfully. The so called Spanish hack is a pile of manure. You will get a stream but the keys are fake. So as matters stand the boxes are all shit despite what some may suggest. Some stand a better chance than others but thats as far as it goes. Cardsharing is your only real prospect via sat.
I would take a more pragmatic view. In terms of support whats your best bet. It aint starview 1`s (or any of the other earlier boxes digivox excepted) as without SunRise there would be no fix. Manual key input only takes 30 seconds though so the box will still work. Linux however is likely to be better supported longer term.Comment

Yes I totally agree bugaloo mate, And as told to me by a very well respected mod of the forum It's not a case of the box it's a case of processor power. Linux box will probably be the answer. But I think this is going to be my last post on anything to do with nagra 3 cos this debate just goes on and on.....
And until anything happens regarding encryption, I don't think anyone should worry.Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

He already has a perfectly good working sv1 as a second box why change it.Really not being funny guy's but why should ppl not buy anything on the market now?? Actually I have 4 sv1's and 2 eurovox2008v's
After the last software update the sv's channel manager is by far superior to the euro's.
On the other hand the euro's epg and program information beats the sv's hands down....
I would point out that both of them are better than the samsung 2110c that vm provide
On the roll the SV1 takes around 15 seconds on average whilst the euro can take up to a minute.........
I am guessing that you are in the business of selling new boxesLast edited by david alton; 26 January, 2009, 15:34.Comment
