digivox xl set up problem

hi all hope u can help me with this 1,got a new xl box with latest firmware on,do a autoscan,switch emu on just sits there on channel updating!!!go into nag menu it says ntl as provider id but i think it should be telewest try the 5ao1 press store but keeps going back 2 ntl,box is in aldrige wallsall area,ty in advance for help.

in other words how do u get it going done a few digivox silvers no problem but this xl is a bugger

i take it the channels were all picked up on scanning? you get free to air but not scrambled? try going into the cas menu and press the option reset default key (or words to that effect) and see if it updates.

yes its found all the channels and i have tried the cas key default still no joy,thanks for your help again on a bad run at mo

mate if you scanned after flashing did you do a factory reset first? try this then rescan and you should be good to go.

tried factory reset then rescan still the same,when i do the autoscan on tw it finds all chanels,when nt none but in nag page after tw scan it comes up nt???thats whats bugging me

from memory do some boxes not do that? ntl is the first provider. bit of a mystery this as normally the newer versions of the box flash identically. take it you have left it long enough on one channel?

left box on all night still says updating.to recap its a brand new box flashed with the latest firmware i have used on other digivox xl boxes,i ran a autoscan and switched the emu on,did the default key in cas mem factory reset and scanned again even tried the keymaster codes with no luck please help

This is a strange one mate. I am trying to fathom out whats wrong.

It doesnt sound like a faulty box it sounds for some reason like the software has been corrupt. Have you tried reflashing the box with an image downloaded from somewhere else and after the download complete message is displayed make sure that you wait until the box shows a channel number (e.g 0001) before unplugging. then do a factory reset and rescan.

ty again bugaloo i will do a reflash on it and let u know its a strange 1 but i might have done something thick,will check what system info on firmware says before flash might have put wrong firmware on again ty pal

ok how can i put it????i must have been drunki put old firmware on it looked at system info sorry for any time wasted on this problem and ty 2 all that helped in making this disaster movie

Ive recently purchased a digivox XL (black box) cable version for my dad but we are having trouble getting it going. I own a sliver one myself which i had no problems with but im having trouble finding the nagravision menu on this one.Im living in the irish midlands and our provider is chorus(NTL) can somebody help me please.. i keep hearing about firm ware what is this? thanx in advance for any help ye can give me.

chdl is a bad flash what firmware are u trying to reflash it with,easiy fixed.
