    Time for a box upgrade??

    Hi all,

I currently own a starview 2 box and to be honest, it's getting to be a bit of a ball ache updating it all the time.

I was just wondering if there is a more advanced box available in which i could just buy, update, and its good to go.

I've come across a couple of brands, one standing out from the rest (eurovox??).

Could anyone enlighten me on whether this would be a good upgrade from my current box??

I'm a total rookie when it comes to this stuff so i would appreciate any of your knowledge and/or recommendations.

    Cheers

I have a eurovox and a starview 4, Both boxes have their pro's and cons but personally I prefer the sv4 mate.

What would u say was better on the sv4? im looking for a box that i can update via USB hopefully and maybe a box which has a more advanced channel interface than my sv2.

Do any of your boxes have these capabilties?

Yes mate the starview 4 super usb can be upgraded via the usb port and it's easy to do, There's plenty of guides available in the downloads section of the forum. The interface is far superior to the sv2, You get a five day epg listing and it's got pvr capability.

              Superb.

              Thanx for your help lanxman.

I'm just trying to update my sv2 box with v4.57 firmware. Have successfully loaded it onto the box, however, when i power it off, connect it to the tv and cable connection, it says 'no signal!' and has only about a dozen channels listed??

Would you know of any solution to this?

Do you think it would be wise to rollback to v.4.55 that's available??

Digital Kaos - Downloads - Starview2 and The Box Super Fix 08-04-08

This was the one you loaded on right?

Did you do a factory reset before loading on the f/w?
Try that and press menu then press 1570 and make sure emu/keycode is set to on. Rescan and see if that makes a difference mate.

Yeah just ran a rescan and its picked all the channels up which is great news. The difference being from the last version was when you ran an auto scan it would find about 240 channels and place them by default from channel 1. Now they are clustered together around the channel 600 mark.

Its gonna be a shit to edit the channels but hey-ho, musn't grumble.

Once again, thanks for the posts.

you could always try the starview editor to sort out your channels. thats wot i always use, alot easier than remote.
