    Virgin upgrade complaint

I have Virgin BB/TV/Phone and Mobile.
Been with them nearly 12 years...
Just tried to upgrade to a deal I saw online and in the press.
    Tivo @ ?3 per month
    Free Installation
    Free Activation
    Free Wireless Hub
After about 2 hours both online and on phone I was told this was for new customers only
I was gonna be charged ?6 a month for Wireless Hub and only ?20 for my installation....which I politely refused then sent off an angry well worded letter of complaint to Virgin.
Just got a reply saying..we are sorry you feel let down but we cannot offer you any more than the ?20 off installation..
Whoopedooo...Thanks but no fcukin thanks ...
All I want is a free wireless hub and free installation...not much to ask IMO
Any ideas on best way to go forward with this???
If I ring to cancel all my services will they offer me what I want?
Am I better going to Sky?
Thanks in advance if anyone replies

Say you just want to cancel, then they'll put you thru to someone who speaks n understands English instead of those Indians, Usually to a Scottish call centre anyway they'll ask u why u wna leave, alot of the times when ive dne this theyve given me a good deal, or i've told em na im going to leave still, then few days later i get a call back from em.

If your gna say your goin to Sky make sure u have the sky deal infront of u coz they do check and can do price match or beat em. Stickin wiv Virgin wud be the best option coz i beleive internet wise their service is the best. But if the price isn't good enough and u can get better deal elsewer then do that but only after giving the tw@ts another try

Usual story im afraid- All too often they offer great deals to lure in new customers. Loyal customers who have been paying them top dollar for years get ~~~~ all. Stupid thing is that if you leave then they will offer you the deal you want now. Btw the same thing happens with sky too.

Sometimes asking to speak to the supervisor or manager can help if the person you talk to can't give you a good deal.

By the way ive just upgraded my broadband to 20meg, with a 12 month contract, but the guy said our prices change all the time so if the package im getting drops in price for new customers i would be charged the same aswell, at the mo i pay ?25

I had a similiar experience when I wanted to upgrade to Tivo I said I wanted to cancel everything and I was given a ?4 a month loyalty discount for 2 years but still had to pay the ?50 Tivo activation fee. It's there equipment so why do I have to pay to activate it.

Decided to go for 30MB broadband after Xmas but again new customers pay nothing for 3 months a saving of over ?45 yet all they would offer me was not paying the ?5 increase for 3 months. I would have had to pay ?30 activation for the super hub so told them to foregt it.

Of course when I said I'd go elsewhere they just said that's your choice but you won't get 30MB anywhere else.

I was going to wait till existing offer exoired in March but now it seems I'm gonna have my speed doubled to 20MB free of charge so will probably just stick with that,

virmin are just c**ts rang them with a similar got told the same new customers only so asked to be put through to cancellations, after a 50 min chat with them offering me the world when i did agree to what they said tv phone and bb for 28 quid a month and a free multiroom the guy comes back on 5 mons later saying ah that will be 38 quid. erm no cancell my tv please then got told since being with them 3 yeat that since i moved house 9 month ago that then tied me into another 12 month contract i told them to cancell anyway. and my better half fired off a rather nasty email to there ceo got the early cancelation charges dropped in a instant. keep the bb tho cause there is no one to match them.

I rang virgin after we noticed our bill had crept up from ?24 to ?33, we only have phone and 10 meg bb. The scottish guy told me that because they had reduced our bill in 2009 there was nothing he could do apart from knock a fiver off in return for 18 month contarct. Usain Bolt is currently advertising deals for the above at ?18. I quoted deals from talk talk and sky to no avail, there was a time when they wanted to keep their customers. Will ring disconnection and ask for a supervisor, its time for a change.

I always go through to the retentions department - they have more power when negotiating - usually end up with a deal that give me 3 months free and a reduction on the package

                        update...sorry if its late
was meant to get tivo upgrade installed on 17/02/12.
i cancelled planned upgrade and got a confirmation email from virgin head office on 27/01/12.
was at work when the mrs called to say virgin was at the door to install tivo!!!
i told her to tell them to fcuk right off as we had cancelled.
next thing i know she calls me to say that she went ahead with installation and that the engineer had given us a nice new shiny wireless hub free.
he had called head office to say my modem was goosed.
anyhows, my point now is, these useless bastrads couldn't even get my cancelfcukination done right.
                        makes you wonder .....*****s
