still its better than my dreambox and costs the same as i paid for that

if u buy a clone box where are u going to get firmware,as original firmware can brick a box?

ck they are dreamboxes or linux images that are being discussed.

almost every image works on a clone the reason being clones are the market - they are better boxes. The gemini images 4.3 and above are the only ones to avoid and even then patched versions have been released that work on clones. the clones were circa ?50 but with the ? sterling being poor it has increased. still by a mile the best cable box on the market (along with the dbox).

Yesterday evening I tried to flash an image called Newenigma2 on my clone dreambox dm600 and it failed miserably. I have also read on various forums that the clone dm800 has issues with the latest images so if you buy a clone you need to be aware that you may someimes have problems with images other than gemini.

have to confess not familiar with the dm above 500 simply because i dont have a need for hd or recording - use other means. i suspect that as the market grows for theses boxes so will the images.

curious, its funny i came across this at nearly 2 in the mornin after a 6 hours tryin to install newcamd on a clone 600 with an orig tuner and pli image that i put on, ftp'd it and did manual install it said sucessfull but for the life of me i cant find it after reboot, would i be better off tryin a gem image ???
