How to setup a used TIVO box

Hi there I have a firgin media BB/TV/INternet at home. MY tv pack is only M not M+ which they used to provide for free I would like to go for TIvo box however firgin would change me ?5 per month + 7 for M+ more 50? for installation. I am wondering if I can just buy a tivo used box and remain using my TV packge with M only without have to upgrade and pay more for them. Does any one knows if I would need to get my viewing card paired to the my "new" used Tivo box, how to do that? Would firgin do that without create problems? Would appreciate any comments on that as if I ring them I am sure they try everything possible to make me pay more and upgrade with them...

any vm box has to be paired to the subscribers card, they WONT pair your card to a second hand tivo box end off, all vm equipment belongs to vm and shouldnt be sold, so DONT buy one m8.

thanks for that. with sly box you can buy any used or new box at any givren time and upgrade as you wish as long you have a subscription with them, you will still get only services that you paid for in another box after card is paired to other box. Wondering why vm is different....i am not doubt but are you sure ?

Nobody owns a Virgin box, they always remain Virgins property, you subscribe you get a box, you unsubscribe they're meant to take it back, but they usually dont, then they end up on ebay and people think, ahaaaaa, I'll buy that, it might save me a few bob in the long run, it wont..
