Virgin cables cut & no HDD access!

I'm afraid that vandals have cut all my Virgin Media cables, disabling my landline phone, broadband, and cable TV! Like once before, when my services were restricted for late payment, I have no access to any of the TV programmes stored on my hard drive. When I turn on or reboot my V+ Box HD, the front panel display gets as far as Ld20 and the TV screen says "Your digital TV service will start shortly", but that's all. Once or twice, I pressed some keys on the front panel and it got as far as Ld40, but no sign of anything more.

Now, after a few weeks with no services, I've discovered a bill which is higher than it's ever been before for a single month and I'm no longer able to access my Virgin Media email through my 3 Internet mobile USB modem. I get the message "This account has been disabled"!

I've obviously had some extra expenses for mobile Internet and mobile phone. I should get a rebate from Virgin for having no services for a few weeks, but I don't know how much or when this will be applied. Can anyone here tell me a way of watching the programmes stored on my Virgin V+ Box HD with the cables still severed or my services restricted?

(I'm sorry, but I've only just noticed the message saying that no discussion about hacking cable company equipment is allowed. I don't know if this counts as hacking at all. I just want to watch my recordings.)

I'm not as skilled as you think. Anyway, all of that has already been done. Virgin patched the cables back together, but they still didn't work. They then said they needed to lay a new cable, which hasn't yet been done.

The situation now is that I can't access any of the many TV programmes stored on my V+ Box HD hard drive. Does anyone know how I can watch these programs without a connection to Virgin Media? Ideas that spring to mind include connecting some kind of cable from a computer to the V+ Box HD, or removing the hard drive from the box and temporarily putting it in a desktop PC, but I don't think it's as simple as that. Perhaps there's a secret engineer's menu that would allow me access to the hard drive. Does anyone know?
