It depends on what you want to pay ?

If its only for watching TV, i would say a DM500 or dbox2 ( they should give you the cheapest options ) between ?60 - ?120

Or maybe a DM600 if you want to record to an internal hard drive. between ?100-?150

If you got loads of money then i would be going for the DM8000HD, approx ?850

As you know the eurovox are a good box and fairly easy to update although messing with cdf files can be a pain.If its just to watch tv i'd say the ex 1000 or the new Kryptview A750 which is a sound box.Easier to update imo and support is second to none.If he requires recording facilities then i'd go for either the eurovox ex5100 or if he wants to spend a bit more the ex700 which is HD ready although at present there is only one hd channel. only prob with these is you can only record what your watching or a programme on the same frequency.
