broadband question

hi, newbie here, i just wanted to know if virgins broadband and tv signal came down the same line, if so could i just order the tv and phone package and then get a modem say off ebay and plug that in, or would i have to order the whole package, help greatly appreciated, thanks

They do come down the same line but you won't be able to do access the internet of a cable modem unless it's hacked.

Yes, you can split the coax and buy a modem, reprogram it and stick it on.

thanks for replys guys, been looking into that, but i dont understand where you get the mac addresses from because it says you need one for the modem.

I wouldnt know ANYTHING about hacking anything. The tv, phone and net is sent down the same line and i 'believe' what you are asking 'can' be done .....but i wouldnt know TBH.
