questions and advice on cable boxs

my friend us to have a starview super usb box (thinks it was a 4)
he has looked at getting a sat box but they cant do that as them boxs need an internet connection to get paid channels and he doesnt have the internet at home
so he wants to know what is best box to get all sky channels
where to buy from ?
do you have to input keys each week/month?
and most important how long will they last
he only had the last cable box for 3months before it got switched off and paid 240 for the box

tell him to get the internet as that opens more,certain things are censored so you cant read them,most boxes now need a lan connection to work.

the only way to have all sky channels without using internet is to get sky installed

i been told by p.m a dm500c will do

thought dm500c is only a sd not hd box?kryptview hd works on cable with lan no subs needed but need a good signal so as not start glitching,a lot of people have moved to sat can he get or have a dish fitted then the whole world can open up with a sub.

no choice on cable euroview+sub=starview,or phoenix hd a850 running well by all reports as it has its own server as that is kvs new hd box but sold out for a few weeks.
if he could move to sat plenty of boxes and hd channels.

i got sub to share just need cable which can support it and view in hd via a hdmi lead
