    Moving external cable entry point

    Evenin all,

I would like to move the brown plastic diamond cable box from the front wall of my house to a side wall, this will involve a bit of digging etc, main problem is I will need to extend the incoming cable by approx 6 metres. The existing satellite type cable is in a green sheathing, about 30mm in diameter.

What is the best componet to connect existing cable to new one, given it will be buried 100mm or so, and should I use the green sheathing too?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Go to TLC and buy a underground resin joint kit...Underground Joint Kit 1 - 2 Way / Through - Resin Joint Kit join the cable with the usual F connectors and a twin female coupler...then when the cables are joined together you use the joint kit to "cold pour" the resin into the mould, 20 minutes later the joint has gone hard and can be buried...That should do it ..Total cost about ?20 for a proper job, and you do not actually mess around with the cable termination done by vermin....I use these joint kits all the time, they are mainly designed for joining underground mains cables rated up to 500volts, and will do the job.
