Would you recommend VM broadband ?

A bit of advice sought , if anyone can help .
I currently have a VM basic viewing / phone package and a few starviews .
My broadband is with Tiscali , which means i'm paying for 2 line rentals , BT and VM .
Is there much involved in the switch to VM broadband ? , i know i'll have to hide my starviews ! , but i also have a splitter in the outside VM box .
Would it need taking out ? , or does the engineer just connnect up in the house and lastly , is it any good ? , Thanks All .

when i got vm bb in they said i could either have a bloke come round and connect it or have the modem sent by courier. i had them come round all they did was put splitter in the tv cable then connect it to the modem and to the computer then u set it up on your computer its a piece of pi55 m8 i have never had any probs with their bb

As gmb says depending on your current setup there is every chance they will just send you out a modem and start up pack with cd, connections such as splitter, leads etc. if they offer it take that option. personally yes i would recommend vm broadband.

I had VM about 4yrs back... wish id still had it, was only took out because of arguments on late bills.... but Id recommend it as mine only ever knocked of about twice the whole time i had it were as my BT router goes awol all the time and needs hard resets to get it up and running again.. not to mention with this BT I pay for 5meg but only can get 2meg and cant go 2meg because its not unlimited

.... as long as they dont have to put in a line or route a line to where you want it they just give you the pack to setup

When I got VM Boradband they gave us a some credit on the bill for installing it myself. I share a 2meg connection between 4 people and its reliable, the download limit is apparently 6gig (so I read on another forum) then they throttle you. The best thing, I don't have to pay line rental.

I have Tiscali Max. Been with them for nine years and have only ever been without broadband twice for less than one day each time.

Up to 8 meg usually comes in at 5 meg and free phone calls 24/7 including International (10 Countries) for less than ?20.00 a month.

Have an educational box and an educational modem. Would gladly change the lot to cable if they gave me the same deal but would cost a fortune in phone calls.

if u want the bloke to come round u have to agree a date and time,(which could be a week) and it will cost ?30 which will go on your vm bill, if u have the modem sent prob 2 days at most

V*rg*n broadband is really quite good. Im on the 2Mb package just now but i will be getting a free upgrade to 10Mb pretty soon. You would be far better getting your interwebz from VM instead of t*scal*.

Had VM Broadband for 9 years now and had virtually no probs with it at all -- I lost it one time and phoned up..... half an hour later THEY PHONED ME to apologise and say it would be back on in 15 minutes.... and sure enough, back it came!!

                            Fabulous Service...... I started on 512K - now 10 Meg [actually between 6 - 8 meg....]
