Card Swap Programme

We are currently writing to some of our Digital customers to advise them that we are upgrading our TV systems so that we can both improve the security of their TV service and prepare for future Digital TV enhancements. Don?t worry if you haven?t received a letter, not everyone is affected by these changes. An important step in this upgrade is the replacement of the card in the Digital box. Attached to the letter we have sent is a new card. If you have received a letter you will need to replace the old card in your Digital box with this new UPC card to ensure that you continue to receive your Digital TV service. If you have more than one Digital box, you will receive a separate card for each box where the card needs to be changed. Please note you will only need to change the card in Digital boxes that display an ntl logo on the front. There are a number of different Digital box types, it is only certain boxes where the card has to be changed, and therefore you will only receive a card for those that do need to be changed.

OK, they say "not everyone is affected by these changes" and "you will only need to change the card in Digital boxes that display an ntl logo on the front."
so wat is happenin ? are they changin or not ?
any of u guys on cable with an old sagem box got new cards yet???

Not in C*rk have the sagem boxes and no new cards. Chr*us were doing a signal check 6 months after updating all their local amplifiers in the area. People who have called ch*rus recently have had their cable modem changed to the new type and sagem box swapped out for the new UPC box. which has the n2 card ATM. A recent new customer also got the UPC box with the n2 card. (i hate the user interface even more than the old sagem)

i suppose people with the n2 cards wont be getting the newer cards and chorus will be done when ntl is changed over

Hi glic, wat i was tryin to find out was anyone on cable with a sagem box old or new that has a n3 card in it still not confirmed if they will work in them re:1st post

I have one of the oldest NTL branded pace boxes and it is running a nag 3 card since last week, when i got it in the post.

UPC arnt going to go to all this effort to leave N2 running.

New Chorus mmds customers are still being given Sagem boxes.
I think the switchover in Chorus MMDS areas will be along way down the line.

but reports of them changin the sagem boxes on cable areas is weird as they are still installin them on mmds ???
why bother changin them on cable if they will work on n3 ????????

chorus dont use the same boxes as ntl and as far as i know no one on chorus has got the new card i know plenty of ntl customers have got the new card running in the old box but nothing on chorus havent heard of anyone in a cablled area getting 1

there are 2 cards being issued on n/l
110 and 142, n/l mmds changing too new sys.

i think the question we should be asking is has anybody who was using a card with the upc logo(not nthell) had a new card sent to them???? on cable or nthell.
i would guess anything they do with chor.. is irrelavant they wont change them for a good while yet.

the boxes used on ch0rus mmds are the sagem itd66 and a few older sagem ones as well all dark grey colour, on cable the box type varies but they also use the sagem itd66 small box with the card underneath they are light grey colour
now if these sagems on cable can use the n3 card that means that ch0rus mmds sagems can too and the change over will be quick for mmds customers but if they are changin the sagems on cable to the ntl boxes that means mmds boxes will have to be swapped out too...everyone follow wat im sayin

yeah i hear what your saying red but what reports has there been of chorus customers getting the cable boxes upgraded?i havent heard of any myself, i also think 1 of the main reasons they havent a pvr box on chorus mmds is because they dont have any pvr's with t type tunners only cable tunners

sorry glic should have said in 1st post any of u guys on "NTL" cable with an old sagem box got new cards yet???

dont think they had sagem boxes on ntl though it was samsung and pace boxes they used

yea thought as much but a m8 phoned me yesterday and said in dublin a lot of swappin out boxes goin on
