    Advice on Cable Box

    Hey guys,

I totally new to this cable recievers thing . I've been reading a lot on forum for info, hence my first real post.I'm really confused between a lot of things . So I have a few question if anyone doesn't mind?

    under Downloads

    i saw dreambox,eurovox,starview,dbox2

what is confusing the heck out of me is which one is better i live down south near london and just got Virgin Media and just wondering do i have to buy a new cable reciever like eurovox etc.. or the one i got samsung one can that be hacked?

if it cant be hacked then which one out of them all is better and easier to update and relatively cheap too.

    thanks

don't bother hacking your vm box mate as one day they will want it back. Just get yourself a an off the shelf box and put the codes on yourself, its easy. As to which box is better thats down to personal taste and your confidence.. Don't spend too much and the guys on here will help you get it up and running in no time... imo they are all relatively easy to 'update' but the dreambox gives you way more functionality.

Agree with caveman_nige the dreambox is very flexible and is future proof.

oh well, they chnaged their tune huh... Better support for the other boxes though and we do not have support for modding VM kit on DK though... For a noob its gotta be less hassle to buy one from one the known box types that have lots of support and firmware updates etc..
