    V*rgin Detection

    Hi, I have recently put a DB500C in place of my V*rgin box. It's flashed and keyed, currently receiving encrypted channels. Anyway, I was browsing through last night seeing what I have on offer and there is a channel broadcasting. Think it's 220 off the top of my head and it is basically a static screen with a warning from Virgin about the use of my illegal box.


    I do currently have an basic subscription.

    I have read that "talk back" has been disabled and therefore, it is impossible for detection because the correct keys are called everytime.

    Is this true and the channel just broadcast indefinately to non-VM boxes?

    Do I need an active sub to VM in order to receive the signal?

    Sorry if this is a banal, noobie question but we all have to start somewhere.

      thats a standered msg mate been getting on starview for ages just delete the chan is best option they can't detect you

          this channel has been streamed for a while now, their legit boxes dont show it only the dodgy boxes, its there to scare no need worry. also if you got a legit box you can put a splitter in and connect their box to it then that will give them talk back and they will think you are using it

              Would I require an active subscription to get the channels? I would assume not if I can get free channels through a standard box?

              Thanks for your help, you've allayed a couple of fears there.

                  all the channels are streamed on the cable all the time its just a filter on the card that you sub 2 that only allows the channels you pay for to come up on screen, so if you got a basic sub as you say, that will do as you are only going to watch what you pay for on that box anyway
