got a question 4 everyone

what is the best box around...

I currently have a kryptview....

I was finking of getting a dreambox 500c....

but if any1 has any suggestions let me know.....

I want sumit easy firmware etc

Anything open source m8 eg Dreambox, Openmedia.

When things do finally go tits up for us, open source boxes are the most likely to be less of a door stop

I would say Open Media would be the best choice. Then you always have the option of playing with sat. They're not much more than a regular 500c.

wot the ~~~~ is FTP

i use dream up then image

ftp is where u can change individual files without ~~~~ing your bouquets channel setup

iTgate TGM220 best linux box in my opinion, It already works in ireland hihi, and also you have a swapable tuner in it which you can just chage into a satellite or terrestrial box with an easy tuner swap. you also get 2year manufactor warranty and full support,,,,

hi is it hard to swap the tuners from cable to satellite? are the tuners available from same shop as itgate tgm220

No,, the tuner is a clip-in replacable tuner,, a lot easier than a silly dm600 which you need to take the back off.
on TGM you unscrew the lid, tuner just clips out, new one goes in, and yes you can get tuners from same place
