hi guys, ok this is what i have found out, i have two vermin subbed boxes 1 tivo 1 sammy v+hd, now my son has a sammy v+hd in his bedroom not subbed but he only gets free view coz of n3 get all that, but when i put my card in his box it opens up the recording side of things and it lets him record whatever free view he wonts also if u go into diag via red button it says card ok, wierd i know,, but my question is why does an unpaired un subbed box let me get that far?? there must be something that were missing to get round n3.. any thoughts on this would be great..cheers.chris..............

The pairing is usually only visible during ecm's, which means for encrypted channels. For free channels, the box considers the card perfectly valid. -
why though when its not paired?? u would think it would have said something like mute error or smart card invalid but it doesant,, could mean something this

As I said, pairing is only useful for decrypting channels (pairing works by encrypting ecm traffic between card/box) As far as the box is concerned any active card is acceptable for tasks that dont require actual channel decryptionComment
