complete newbie to all this

hi i know you have all been asked this soooooooooo many times before so please forgive me

im looking at getting a cable box im all ready with vm but would like to know a couple of things before p**s the wife of spending on what i dont really understand

what is the best box to get for flashing and will still work when they change the encryption

once i buy a box what software do i need to upload new firmwhere

what do i connect box direct to pc or use rooter

i live on the wirral merseyside so does that effect what patch i upload?

please help me please

thanx, exactly what i'm thinking which box to buy I am either thinking Eurovox SL, or DreamBox,

after further reading the dreambox looks wicked, but I dont know if its hard to set up, Still confused Eurovox or Dreambox?

If you just want to sit and watch tv go for the Eurovox. If you like messing about with your box and computer than go for the dreambox.
