Getting rid of Virgin

Does anyone know what happens now when you cancel Virgin? Is it still the case they just uplift the boxes etc and don't turn off the feed to the house?

they collect the boxes now so ive heard m8 and ive heard of people getting cut off 2 so to be quite honest u r better off keeping a basic package of tv or bb after all whats a few quid compared to what u can get eh plus we all want vm to keep going or we r all stuffed m8

My mate tried being clever by cacelling is VM, they sent a courier to collect his box and modem, then 48 hrs later he was cut off. ( I laughed and laughed and laughed) mate or not pay a minimum.

always pay at least the basic, if everyone cancelled their subs there would be no tv

yes my experience of this is that they leave the line active untill they decide to have a tidyup of unused feeds. just keep the minimum and you'll be fine

Down grade to Freeview channels only which is free, but have to keep phone line, dont bite the hand that feeds you to hard!

ive got the min package also well not really, as i threatened to go elsewere for my b/b and tv said i will keep your fone line open thou , they offered me 20 meg b/b and family pack or summit for my tv free calls at nite, and also that extra 5quid u have to pay if you dont go by d/d that was cut down to ?1.50.. 22 a month a pay, am happy enough with that..

They didn't pick up my old pace box, but they did cancel my feed

my m8 across the road, hes had free TV and BB for just over 3 years now. When he cancelled his services, VM disconnected the cable from the junction box on the road, one evening me and him got into the junction box, ripped off the address label and plugged this cable back in and hes still going good!
We've got an upgrade coming in this area soon, so lets see what happens.

just pay min sub, then there is no worry of being cut off. You can get all the sport, films etc for the price of a min sub, you really cannot argue with that.

by the way, are the junction boxes easy to get into? have heard a few people say they have got in and reconected.

I dont suggest you do that it wud be a criminal offence if you got caught

also If everybody did that and connected themselves and VM were not getting any money then they wud go BUST like SETANTA

Mark what was the exact package they did for you?? I've called up in the past and they have told me to just cancel my services as I couldn't get a better deal than the on I'm on!!!

ive had this deal for about 9 months now looking on the vermin website its large tv large phone and xl bb i am on.at the time we got the sky coomunal sat dish up also in the flats i`m in and at time i told vermin i was gonna just go with sky ,i was on the 3 for 30 i think it was at the time,they then gave me the deal i`m on just now to stay,which i took them up on,i did also complain heavly about the ?5 extra charge they added on my bill for non d/d payment and after a couple of more threats of leaving they cut that down to 1.50....ps forgot to add they did say it would only be for a year i would have this deal so we shall see soon enough.
