    Digivox XL USB v. Kryptview ?

    Hi, I'm a newbie...I'd welcome views as to whether to chose a Kryptview or a Digivox XL USB...I gather both will work in Ireland ? Digivox seems 'richer' and better value but Kryptview seems to have a name for being very well supported...? Any comments on picture quality ?

    Many thanks.

      Thank you. The truth is I really know little about the background to the Digivox. Its been offered to me as an alternative to an (out of stock again) Kryptview...I'm just a tad wary...the Digivox sounds really good and great value...but I'm wondering whilst it appears a more functional/flexible box, is it actually of inferior quality to the Kryptview..eg picture quality, speed of channel change etc ? If they were considered similar quality, the decision is really then the extras on the DV versus the KV support...

      Thanks for reading my post...

        i dont know much about the digivox either, in uk they about 10 quid cheaper than kryptview so some people will go for that and save the tenner but i would personally pay the extra for kryptview for support and the autosort channels, and the scan in stanby mode. i have never dropped any channels at all for over 2 years except for when a new firmware was required.

          Kryptvu back-up top class;
          picture quality only OK
          Rem-control NIGHTMARE
          Power scan on standby is good, but will mess up ch lists
          and re-install any deleted chls

          DIGIV-usb nice box once it hacked nagra2 (3 months +)
          Did they hack N2 or modify SV4 1.10 fix (no digiv XL fix yet)

          EUROVOX 5100 PVR [came on market Jan 09] NO N2 FIX
          Great picture;menu;user friendly;works like SKY+ box
          The best non linux box on the market
          What good is that when the box has no chls to view
          It's time MANUFACTURERS were told; sort out firmware or we
          will not sell your products anymore

              Thanks Eamon, fair dues to KV in terms of the consistent positive commentary on their back-up...counts for a lot. Tips re the auto scan and remote also warmly welcomed...maybe I could get DV features in a KV box with a DV remote and KV support...that would be a cracker !!! Really appreciate your advice, thank you.
